These 26 Montessori-inspired do-a-dot letters for toddlers and preschoolers use realistic healthy food images, Montessori letter colors, and an order used in many Montessori schools to introduce letter sounds. The pack also has a page with letters and miniature healthy food images along with 3 different miniature movable alphabets (in manuscript print, D’Nealian, and cursive).
The healthy foods include the words zucchini (American English for courgette) and eggplant (American English for aubergine). If you live where the terms zucchini and eggplant aren't used, this is a good way for your child or students to learn some American terms!
The pack uses a Montessori order for teaching letter sounds to help children learn to read and spell the greatest number of words quickly. And it uses red for consonants and blue for vowels, like the Montessori movable alphabet. It also uses the Montessori concepts of lowercase letters, short vowel sounds, and /x/ as in trail mix.
